Naturopathic Wellness Dinner: Weight Loss 1/28/2012

The January Wellness Dinner at the Open Kitchen in Portland, Oregon will be exploring weight loss through nutrition.  In collaboration with Dr. Alexis Shields from the Core Elements Chiropractic Center, the Open Kitchen will design a four course meal that will taste delicious and will be your cliff notes to this hands on “food as medicine” dining workshop.  This will not be a dinner of carrots and apples with a slice of lemon on the side: this dinner will feature a “fine dining” menu with ingredients specifically designed to burn more calories than they create.   CLICK HERE FOR THE MENU       Dr. Shields will moderate the dinner, explaining to the diners the effect these ingredients have on the body and what other nutritional benefits they have.  Guest will be able to ask Dr. Shields why high fat foods are fine to eat, or which foods are the danger foods when speaking about weight loss, which diets are merely fads and which have statistical facts behind them.
